Custom design and development of an online catalogue and marketing site for this publishing company.
This client approached us with a need to modernise their existing website to allow for the search and display of their publishing catalog along with information about the authors. They also needed to highlight the printing side of the business to prospective customers.
For this project we worked with an external designer to create the design concepts and worked with them to refine approaches given the client required the website to be Level A compliant with the WCAG. This required a number of rounds of feedback to ensure the designers' vision was possible within these requirements and to ensure the user experience would be optimal across all devices.
The website features a custom product catalogue function allowing the client to easily manage the book catalogue within the site along with links to retailers offering the book for sale. There is also a "Look inside" function to present internal book spreads adding more useful information to the user.
Different book formats can be easily added for each book along with the matching retailers. A user rating system was also integrated into the site for social validation and user experience.
Books can be related by topic and category to provide contextual content to improve product discovery and time on site.
Their is a live search function on the site to present matching books to the user as they search to reduce clicks to target and improve user experience.
